MSI performs structural finite element analysis to predict deformations, stresses, and fatigue life.  Applications range in size from large structures such as massive concrete and steel pumping stations, all the way down to small implantable biomedical devices.  The environment to which these structures are subjected must be well understood to provide realistic simulation results.  Boundary conditions including gravity, pressure, wind, seismic, operational forces, etc. are commonly involved.  MSI excels in performing complex nonlinear analyses that may include friction, contact, or exotic material properties that may be non-homogenous, nonlinear, or anisotropic.
