Sales Engineer (posted 1-13-2017)


Sales Engineer with 5 to 15 years of experience with rotating machinery.


This position could be based at either our headquarters in Whippany, NJ or in the Gulf Coast region of the USA.  However, MSI will consider other office locations for the right candidate.


This position will support company growth by working with other engineers who manage MSI’s rotating machinery troubleshooting and testing services business area, as well as our mechanical and fluid dynamic analysis business.  It requires a combination of sales experience and strong technical background, and the flexibility to work in an entrepreneurial self-starting environment.  The ideal candidate will have 5 to 15 years of experience with rotating machinery in a sales position involving one or more of the following areas: field service, repair, engineering, or maintenance.  We are also looking for someone who has worked within one or more of the following industries: nuclear, fossil, and hydroelectric power generation; refining/oil production or pipelines; water and wastewater; or maritime.  The position will have the responsibility to grow revenues and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers throughout all project phases including matching customer requirements to MSI capabilities, supporting proposal preparation, order pursuit & closing, work completion, and project follow-up.  Travel is estimated at 25% to 35%, primarily in North America.

  • An engineering degree, preferably mechanical, or equivalent experience
