Vibration Finite Element Analysis
MSI performs finite element analysis for vibration applications often involving rotating machinery, a core focus area of the business. Analysis types used to fully characterize vibration include Modal, Harmonic Forced Response, and Spectral analyses. Modal analysis is used for predicting system natural frequencies to determine if resonance is a potential problem. The others are for predicting the magnitude and phase of the vibration response to a certain excitation source. Shock, impact, and seismic behavior is often evaluated with Response Spectrum methods such as DDAM.
