Dr. Mary Leland has a BS in Mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in
Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has over 20 years of experience in software development and software
architecture, with expertise in the creation and combination of software components to provide customers with usable and useful integrated systems.
DrPrior to MSI, her employers included AT&T Bell Labs, Improv Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, and Bell Communications
Research (now Telcordia). She researched user interfaces and database implementations at AT&T Bell Labs. Mary was a software architect
and developer for Improv's Cirquet product, a peer-to-peer, distributed software integration platform. While at Hewlett-Packard, she served as a software
architect on an ad-hoc task force on Distributed Enterprise Computing Architecture, and chaired the Object Management Group IDL to Java Revision
Task force. At Bell Communications Research, Mary co-led the User Interface Architecture and Development for a 3-tier telephony engineering application,
integrating telephone network design and engineering tasks.
DrAt MSI, Mary is currently active in projects involving integration and communication among off-the-shelf software systems to
perform semi-automated complex analysis of rocket turbopumps, and is pioneering software implementing acoustical sensing to analyze and diagnose
problems in machinery.
