John J. Jagodnik
Project Engineer
Mr. Jagodnik joined the MSI team following 4 years of graduate education in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. He was awarded
a GAANN fellowship to sponsor his graduate studies at Northeastern, where he received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and is currently completing
(through long-distance learning) a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. In his graduate work, he focused his efforts primarily in the fields of tribology and biomechanics.
These projects have led to five technical publications.
John’s industrial experience in the medical device field includes contributions to product design, testing, and production line optimization for a
variety of catheter based and implantable medical devices. Prior to joining MSI, John’s DoD experience has included textile stress and deformation experiments
for the US Army Research Office, as well as the design of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), which uses sonar to map features on the bottom of the ocean.
At MSI, John’s projects include detailed analyses of all types, as well as lab and field testing. He has solid experience with a variety of engineering
software including SolidWorks, Pro/Engineer, ANSYS Multiphysics, MATLAB, the Sandia Labs Hydrocode CTH used for gross plasticity evaluation, the LS-DYNA
explicit FEA code for crash and impact dynamics, the NASA GFSSP fluid system dynamics analysis software, and the NASA NASGRO fracture mechanics software.
