Ehren Feller
Project Engineer

Mr. Feller earned his BSME and MSME at NJIT. At MSI, Ehren applies nonlinear finite element analysis and 3D solid modeling techniques. Project experience includes design development and analysis of rocket turbopumps, test and modification of aeroderivative gas turbines, and detailed stress and modal analysis of various forms of turbomachinery. Ehren’s project work consistently has led to substantial improvement of new and existing problem equipment that OEM’s and End Users have entrusted to him. An example was the recent implementation of his proposed changes on an aeroderivative engine, which successfully changed a problematic natural frequency and its mode shape, improving the engine’s full speed full load vibration levels by over a factor of three.

Ehren’s efforts on behalf of DoD projects in terms of design and analysis, as well as through testing in the field, has helped assure the success of MSI projects such as the USMC/ONR RPG Defeat Shotscreen™ system, the USAF Upper Stage Engine Technology initiative, and the US Army Nonlethal Wall Penetrator and advanced reciprocating Kull Engine programs. His machine design capabilities and practical knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes have led to practical design optimization. In the biomedical area, Ehren has evaluated innovative spinal cages for FDA qualification by simulating standard mechanical tests with nonlinear FEA techniques, and has guided design iterations for knee joint support structures. He has designed bio-absorbable vascular implants and associated application tooling from concept to prototype for use in post-operation vascular suturing.
