Mary D. Leland
Lead Software Architect
As Senior Software Architect, Dr. Leland has 25 years of experience in software development and software architecture, with expertise in the creation and combination of software components to provide customers with usable and useful integrated systems. She is currently developing software for an Air Force project to do health monitoring of turbomachinery for a NASA project that integrates off-the-shelf FEA and CFD tools with specialized component (e.g. seal, bearing) solvers, and for Air Force and Navy projects developing a visual-based sensor for missile tracking. Prior employers include Improv Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Bell Communications Research (now Telcordia), and AT&T Bell Labs. At Bell, she co-led the User Interface Architecture and Development for a 3-tier telephony engineering application, integrating telephone network design and engineering tasks. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and her undergraduate work includes a BS in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
